Children's Ministry
At Oakwood, we consider it an honor and a privilege to minister to children.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for
the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
Luke 18:16
Our purpose is to lead the children to faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and
to help them grow spiritually into mature disciples of Christ. We do this on
Sunday mornings with traditional Sunday School followed by our SONSHINE PARK
program and on Wednesday evenings with AWANA.
- SONshine Park is our children's church program on Sunday mornings.
It is for children ages 4-12 years old.

- Awana is from 6:30 to 8:30 from September until May
- Awana is for children ages 3 years old through 8th grade
- Awana is designed to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him

Other Children's Ministry Activities
- Sunday School at 9:30 Sunday mornings
- Child Care in our Nursery/Toddler rooms during the Sunday morning service
- Children's Sermon in the adult service before the SONSHINE PARK program begins
- Vacation Bible School during the summer
- Children's Choir for special events like our Annual Fair
