Oakwood's Green Team

The Green Team is a group of dedicated volunteers that serve the Lord and our church by maintaining the outdoor grounds and exterior of our building. Each year this team keeps our campus looking great by mowing the grass, weeding and pruning the outdoor plants, planting flowers, and planning a spring clean-up day. 

This provides another opportunity for people with unique skills to serve God by doing what they are good at. Many team members use their mowing time for meditation and prayer. Some people do their best thinking while they're riding or pushing a lawnmower!

The Green Team can also be physically challenging, accompanied by both the benefits and the soreness of physical exercise. The incidental pains, discomfort and soreness are nothing compared to what Jesus sacrificed for us. Team members serve on a rotational schedule from May through October, mowing about once every 5-6 weeks. The church campus is divided into two different zones, with each zone taking about two hours to mow.
