The Men's Ministry at Oakwood Community Church exists to help men know Christ and grow in their faith. We do this through men's small group Bible studies, as well as occasional events, retreats and service projects. Below are some of the events and opporutnities currently taking place in our men's ministry.
Join us on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 5:00-7:00pm for Oakwood's annual Family Wild Game Dinner! The cost is $5.00 per person and tickets must be purchased in advance (no tickets will be sold at the door). You can use the link below to register and pay online using your debit card, or purchase tickets at Oakwood.
This year our guest speaker is former Detroit Lions player, Jason Hanson. Jason retired in 2012 from the Detroit Lions after completing one of the most historical careers in NFL history, spanning 21 seasons as one of the league’s most productive kickers. Jason is an active speaker in the Christian community and helped establish Providence Youth Outreach, which helped at risk youth in Pontiac, Michigan. He is married to Kathleen, and they have three children: Ryan, Jessica, and Luke.

A group of men meet Monday mornings at 10:00am at Oakwood Community Church. This provides an opportunity to connect with other men and grow in your faith. All men are welcome, so stop by and check it out. Contact Stan Haack if you are interested or have questions.
Join us on Saturday mornings this fall as we gather together for a time of encouragement and growth. Dig deeper into what it means to step up and live a courageous life as we work through a video series called Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Living. Based on his book by the same title, Dennis Rainey, along with Matt Chandler, Tony Dungy, Robert Lewis, Stu Weber, James MacDonald, Joshua Harris, Crawford Loritts, and many other ministry leaders unpack what biblical manhood looks like and what it means to be a godly, courageous man in today's world. Through engaging stories, expert teaching, humorous vignettes, man-on-the-street interviews, and personal insights, these men's ministry leaders call every man to become courageous leaders in their own lives, marriages, churches, and communities.
A couple of times each year, men from Oakwood use their automotive skills to serve others by providing a free car clinic. Workers donate their time to help people in the church and community with needed car repairs. Those getting vehicles repaired must pay for any needed parts, but all labor is free. This has been a huge blessing to many families.
