Hello Great Family,

I hope this email finds you at peace on this beautiful sunny day.  Praise God for the changing of seasons and the promise of new life that we see this time of year.

Would you consider giving some of your time next Saturday, May 18th to serve with us at our next S.O.S. project?  S.O.S. stands for "Serving Our Savior".  It is our opportunity to serve in the community to make a difference outside the four walls of our church.  We plan to work from 10am to around 3pm (lunch provided).

This S.O.S. project will be at Amplify Ministry in Flint who's vision is to help teens realize their value and worth in Jesus. To meet them in the stages they are in and help them grow and develop into mature adults who are seeking and devoted to being all God has created and called them to be.  Since 2013, they have had the privilege of coming alongside and investing in hundreds of teens throughout Genesee County.  They have encountered kids struggling from abuse, neglect, substance abuse, poverty, and hardships. They realize gathering only for an hour and a half once a week during the school year is not enough to make a lasting impact. With the creation of Amplify Ministries farm location, they will be able to provide a safe, consistent, and stable environment to support teens in growing spiritually, healing emotionally, and thriving educationally.

We need people who can do light construction. We will be building interior walls in a barn that will become classrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen.  We will have the lumber and nails but need people who can bring nail guns and have some ability in building walls.

We need people who can build some flower beds at the entrance to the barn to give it some curb appeal.  If you know how to plant flowers and like dirt, we need you.

We need a crew to build a fire pit.  We will have the fire ring and blocks.  We also have access to a bobcat to prep the area.

So far, we do not have nearly enough people to complete these projects. If you can serve with us, please sign up this Sunday at the Oak or call the office (248) 628-6388 to get your name on the list. Can we count on you?  This will pave the way for this ministry to thrive and I am excited to be a part of this from it's very beginning.

God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
