Great Oakwood Family,

Day Four…Hope & Help for the Oxford community!

Today is about continuing to help the helpers.  Go to the Legacy Center for an hour and just serve (pick up trash, empty full trash bins, sweep, serve food or just talk to people).

Tonight (Friday, December 3) is the Prayer vigil in downtown Oxford.  There have been many start times posted but I believe the vigil will officially start at 7pm.  Getting there early is the key.  It will be in the middle of the intersection of 24 and Burdick.  Traffic will be stopped, and the street will be closed.  Our goal is to get as many people as possible from the Oakwood family to go to the vigil and care for people. Here is what we are doing:

  • If you live south of Oxford, you should get to the vigil on your own but I encourage you to stop at Oakwood today any time to get tissues and candles to hand out.
  • If you are not using our shuttle bus from Oakwood, I encourage you to stop at Oakwood anytime today to get tissues and candles to hand out.
  • If you would like to use our shuttle bus, the bus will start making trips at 5pm and continue as needed till 6:30pm.  We will have tissues and candles available for you to hand out to the crowd until we run out of supplies.
  • Hunter CPA has graiously opened their office to us to warm up or use the restroom. Hunter CPA is located at 7 N Washington Street.
  • Everyone can be praying at 7pm even if you cannot physically attend.  Let’s all pray for Oxford!

Thank you for being a caring church! Now let’s “BE” the church. Let’s show up and serve!

God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
