Hello Great Family,

We are now in our summer schedule with one service at 10AM. I pray you will join us this Sunday as we continue with our sermon series in the book of Acts. Specifically, this Sunday, we are going to deal with a very tough passage (Acts 5:1-11). This is the passage where God strikes Ananias and Sapphira dead for lying to the Holy Spirit. Many people struggle with passages where a just God imposes instant justice. Come hear how our God of love and mercy is also a just God that condemns sin. Worship will be great and we will celebrate communion together.

Members of Oakwood Community Church will have a brief meeting following our Sunday service to affirm the slate of leaders, approve the budget and the loan for our parking lot project (if you haven’t watched the information video yet, CLICK HERE). Be informed and get involved.

This Saturday is our great family’s S.O.S. (Serving Our Savior) project. Everyone will meet at Oakwood Community Church at 9AM for prayer and assignments. Come serve the “Fatherless and Widows” as we go to help people that God commands us to love and assist. All ages can serve together! Wear clothing for outdoor work (forecast says it will be in the low 50’s).  Also, wear your S.O.S. shirt and if you need one, they will be available for $10 each on Saturday morning. If you have gardening tools, weed whacker, shovel, rakes, etc. please bring them. I will be out of town, but we have a team of leaders covering this event that are ready, willing and able. Looking forward to hearing about this event and seeing photos of you in action serving Jesus!

Next Sunday, June 8th is our annual celebration. We will be honoring our seniors, welcoming new members, and continuing our sermon series in the book of Acts. A picnic will follow with several activities planned. Hope your family will join us for this great time of fellowship.
