Hello Great Family,
We have turned the corner and are heading fast forward to the holidays. We have created a schedule and attached it below. I encourage you to post it on your fridge and mark your calendars so that you can participate with the great family of Oakwood this holiday season.
Here are the details:
- November 11 - Grief Share's Surviving the Holidays event. Find comfort for the season with support and practical tips for facing holiday challenges after loss. Invite someone to join you this Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8pm.
- November 24 - Annual Pie, Prayer, Praise event. Join us on this Tuesday before Thanksgiving from 6:30pm to 8pm for this worship event with prayer and testimonies. Bring a pie to share.
- November 28 - Decorate the church for Christmas. We need help at 9am on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We like to make Christmas SHINE at Oakwood. Come help us brighten up the place.
- December 5 - Women's Christmas Breakfast at 9:30am. Women are invited to participate in this meaningful annual event. We will be looking for people to help setup for this event and to return the worship center to order for services the next day.
- December 6 - Final day of our Christmas project with the Sgt. Hagland and the Family Benevolent Fund. Be sure to have everything at church by the end of services that day.
- December 13 - Heath Brothers Christmas Concert on Sunday evening at 6pm. We decided to host a concert for our great family at Oakwood. Come enjoy some Christmas worship and leave a love offering for the group as they continue this tour.
- December 20 - Oakwood Cares Offering wraps up this day. This is our annual offering that covers all our Oakwood Cares donations in our community. Online giving will open after Thanksgiving and be available through Christmas. This is a vital resource. Give generously! Give sacrificially!
- December 24 - Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 11am & 2pm. This is our annual service that provides a great opportunity for your family to put the emphasis on Jesus during Christmas and also an excellent outreach opportunity. Start inviting friends and family now!
- January 2 - Take Down Christmas Decorations at 9am. It's sad but true...everything must be put away until next year. Come help us put the church back in order.
Another opportunity you have during the Christmas season is to participate with us in our 25 day Advent devotional, "The Indescribable Gift". The devotionals will be available in the lobby for a donation of $5. Take one per family and experience preparing for Christmas together with the great family at Oakwood. You will also be challenged to memorize Scripture along the way.
There you have it! Holiday season 2026 is upon us. Let's make the most of this season together!
God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
