Hello Great Family,

We have a BIG weekend happening here at Oakwood. Our annual Harvest Fest is Saturday from 2pm to 4pm. Here is how you can serve as a part of our great family...

  • PRAY for effectiveness!
  • PROMOTE by inviting people and getting the word out on social media.
  • PREPARE by serving at Oakwood today (Friday) from 3pm to 5pm setting up and cleaning up our grounds
  • PARTICIPATE on Saturday: If you are setting up a trunk, be in your space by 1pm and have one bag of candy to start event (refills provided from MT. Candy); If you are serving elsewhere, check in to the welcome tent for assignments at 1pm.
  • PACK-UP after the event. We could use help putting everything away and preparing church for Sunday.

Sunday will also be a BIG day at Oakwood. Awards and recognition from the Harvest Fest will be presented. But more importantly, we will be gathering for worship as usual and we will also be observing communion together. The text is Acts 20:7-38 and you might appreciate the focus being on the pastor's duties. The BIG Idea is actually, "Pastor, don't bore us to death...Do your job!" Come hear the message putting pastors on the hot seat.

Also, this Sunday we turn the corner into Holiday preparation. We will have a guest here to explain our Christmas project (helping Oakland county families in need) for this season. I will also present a church-wide advent challenge in the form of a 25 day advent devotional and Scripture memorization.

I look forward to seeing you around the Oakwood campus this weekend. It is my joy to serve you and serve with you!

God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
