Hello Great Family,

Here are a few items for you to consider:

  • Christmas Eve Service (2pm or 4pm) – Christmas can come and go quickly leaving you without a moment to reflect on Jesus’ birth. Our Christmas Eve services will focus on the Wonder of Jesus.  These services will be filled with videos, readings and traditional Christmas songs that will all prepare you for a blessed Christmas.  Please consider attending one of these services and inviting someone to join you.
  • Oakwood’s “LOVE - #WITHOxford” T-shirts are in and are available at the church for $15 each on Thursday (10am – 4pm); Between the Christmas Eve services and on Sunday, December 26.  They look GREAT!  Get yours before we run out!
  • The 2021 Oakwood Cares offering to date has been just over $14,000.  Our goal is $20,000 each year.  This fund cares for community needs (emergencies, food, clothing, gas, utilities, etc.).  There is still time to contribute.  Go to www.oakwoodcc.org/give click on “Give Online Now”.  Choose “Oakwood Cares” from the drop down box that says, “To:”.  Thank you for your generosity!

I leave you with a Christmas prayer from Howard Thurman, “When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home, when the shepherds are back with the flocks, then the work of Christmas begins: To find the lost, to heal those broken in spirit, to feed the hungry, to release the oppressed, to rebuild the nations, to bring peace among all peoples, to make a little music with the heart. And to radiate the Light of Christ, every day, in every way, in all that we do and in all that we say. Then the work of Christmas begins.”  Merry Christmas!

God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
