Hello Great Family,

This Sunday is the fifth Sunday of the month. That means they let the pastor lead worship. That means I get to lead my favorite songs. That means you better start practicing the set because I expect full participation. I am looking forward to worshiping with you!

The message this Sunday in our "Biblical Worldview" series is about Scripture. We are going to look at the Bible - How did we get it? and How can we trust it? This essential and foundational in order to have a BIBLICAL Worldview. Here is a little information to wet your appetite for Sunday.

The inerrancy of Scripture is the belief that the Bible, in its original manuscripts (autographs), is entirely free from error. This means that everything the Bible asserts, is wholly true.

Here's a breakdown of its importance:

1. Reflects the Character of God:

Because God is perfect and cannot lie, His written Word, the Bible, is also considered perfect and free from error. It's a reflection of God's truthfulness and reliability.

2. Taught by Christ and the Apostles:

Jesus and His followers upheld the trustworthiness and authority of the Old Testament Scriptures and considered them to be God's Word. They treated the Scriptures as an absolute and reliable source of truth.

3. Foundation for Christian Doctrine:

The inerrancy of Scripture is seen as foundational to other Christian beliefs and doctrines. If the Bible can't be trusted in all its affirmations, then the truth of the Gospel or other core teachings might be uncertain.

4. Provides Objective Authority:

Inerrancy provides an objective standard for believers to live by. It protects against subjective interpretations and potential abuses of misinterpretations.

5. Ensures Trustworthiness of the Gospel:

A reliable Savior requires a reliable Scripture. If the biblical accounts of Christ's life and teachings are not historically accurate, faith might be based on human opinions rather than on God's truth.

6. Guides Response to Other Knowledge Claims:

Belief in inerrancy encourages believers to evaluate everything considering Scripture. It ensures the Bible remains the final authority for determining truth, even in the face of conflicting viewpoints.

7. Sustains Confidence in Preaching:

When the Bible is considered inerrant, believers and preachers can confidently proclaim its message. The decline of belief in inerrancy can lead to a loss of confidence in Scripture and a weakening of the Church.

8. Upholds the Trustworthiness of God:

The inerrancy of Scripture ultimately speaks to the trustworthiness of God himself. To deny inerrancy is to question God's ability or willingness to communicate truth accurately to humanity.

In summary, the inerrancy of Scripture is important because it is intertwined with the character of God, the authority of Christ, and the reliability of the Gospel message. It provides a firm foundation for faith and practice, ensuring that the Bible is a trustworthy guide for all who seek to know and follow God.

Participate with us this Sunday as we seek to encourage your faith in the reliability and trustworthiness of Scripture.

God Bless,
P.D. (Psalm 139)
